BRUNCH
Nowadays, the term "brunch" is a euphemism for hangover food: a morning-after meal for the thousands of bleary-eyed students and young professionals hoping to assuage their angry livers with a heavy dose of grease. This upscale South End bistro, however, takes brunch seriously, offering refined items like eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. With its elegant decor and tall windows overlooking Washington Street, the atmosphere is luxurious, yet prices are lower than you'd pay at more-hyped brunch spots. And for those who do need a little hair of the dog, a hefty drink list includes tasty house specials along with the classic Bloody Mary and mimosa. A perfectly civilized way to start off any weekend morning.
